Here's a description I found from when this style was first put into production in the 1960s: Famous designer Olga believes night should be a woman's prettiest time of the day. And that a nightgown should be exactly that: a gown to beautify the night and the wearer. So she created Sleeping Pretty for you. It has its own wide-a wake shape hushed away in a bodice of nylon lace. These are weightless cups of shell-thin fiberfill that gently shape, lightly support, and round you in a sweetly retiring way. Now, this is not a sleep bra. There's no band to bind you. What there is of control is in the pretty stretch lace back. And there's no dramatic uplift (the idea, after all, is naturalness) In fact, we're not sure that the woman who wears more than a C-cup will want Sleeping Pretty. But if you have small or average proportions, this could give a beautiful new shape to private hours. The gowns are pure romantic Empire... but Josephine never knew about Antron nylon, or the sturdy fragility of clipped nylon lace. Or that colors could be as soft as a rainbow mist.
